Cycling Bike

If new to cycling, bike safety protocols should be thoroughly understood before hitting the road. Cyclists should always ride with traffic, not against it; and all traffic signs should be followed as if you were driving a car. Safety equipment such as helmets should be worn at all times.

An important aspect of cycling, bike maintenance, is something with which all cyclists should be familiar. Bicycle components such as chains, tires and brakes should be periodically inspected for wear and/or damage. Any worn or damaged parts should be immediately replaced.

For many aficionados of cycling, bike races such as the Tour de France are the ultimate in athleticism. Professional cyclists train for years to build up the stamina required of these long distance races. For many cyclists, just finishing one of these races is considered a tremendous achievement.
